UF has been found guilty of SportsHoopla violations and must vacate their 2015 wins. :noidea:

After retiring from sportscasting, the immortal Keith Jackson did not appear in commercials for Clemsonade. He related the story of Gatorade.

Frankly, they're both anathemas, adorned as they are in wretched shades of adulterated orange. Blech!

I do have a question about the next round. This would start June 27. What would you guys rather do?

I will do 1 matchup from Quarterfinals and 1 matchup from consolation each week.

Go from top to bottom of the bracket?

That would be Oklahoma vs Texas and Penn State vs Georgia on June 27.

The loser of Oklahoma-Texas plays the winners of matchups this week (which is looking like it will be FSU-Florida)
The winner of PSU-UGA will face the loser of Nebraska-Ohio State

You would need to wait another week to figure out who each team faces.

Go with the matchups that make the matchup of the next round?

That would be Oklahoma vs Texas and the winners of this week (most likely FSU and Florida).

This way, you know who they face after the week, but it could be a little confusing by looking at the bracket.

It was the wrong vote I know but I'll never in my life vote for Florida or LSU in any poll. Evar! :lm:

I don't have a clue. You put up the polls and I'll vote.

I'd say one and one but it don't matter to me. MSU got the boot.

I went with Florida. Sure Clemson has a NC from 1983 or something, but then where did they go? The 1990s were not kind to Clemson. Storied programs don't go 3-8, 6-6, 5-6. 7-5, 7-5

Why did Ken Hatfield leave Clemson?

Why did Ken Hatfield leave Clemson?

National Championship was in 1981, 34 years ago. I was 10 years old. :L

He does have us seeded at 21, so it's not like we're even close to the upper crust. There are only a handful of schools that have been absolutely dominant over the history of their program.

As far as where did we go in the 90's ..... Clemson's BOT ran off the best coach we've ever had, Danny Ford. Then Hatfield came in and had to fill his shoes. He did a good job when you look back on it, but the level of expectation was higher than Hatfield could achieve. Expectations were probably higher than anyone could have achieved, to be honest. Then there was Tommy West and those seasons of 3-8, 6-6, 5-6, and 7-5. Then came Tammy Bowden who brought the program back to some sort of respectability, but always seem to choke in games we should have won (Clemsoning started here) and couldn't win a bowl game. Now we have ol Dabo and he's doing a fine job. Most of us love him and are "All-In." The guy is 100% Clemson, 100% of the time.

But you are right, "storied" programs, which I think there are only about 10 schools that really fall into this category, don't go 20+ years without winning their conference and suffer through sub par seasons, year after year. We're on the comeback trail now though.

GO TIGERS!!

Actually, the majority of the violations came under Charlie Pell's watch. Danny didn't really do anything to stop what was going on, but most of the stuff we got in trouble for was due to Pell and his staff.
