Unfortunately I actually think this will be more the norm moving forward. Stats are starting to come out that something like 40-50% of these kids in the draft are smoking pot. It is a matter of whether they get caught or not.

Isn't there a positive pot test and player falling a normal draft occurrence? Gregory didn't learn, I doubt the next guy does. Now what if the kid is not drafted yet and lives in Washington or Colorado?

The pot isn't an issue. That would have led to a 5 or 10 spot drop at most like Ray. The mental issues are the concern here. Jokes aside Dallas is a good place for this kid. Marinelli will keep him in line in practice and during games (Gregory when sitting with coach Rod during a visit says I'm told I have a great first step. Rod says it's not that good). And Jerry will go out of his way to make sure this kid does what he needs to do. No way to say it will work out for sure, but the Cowboys will put a system of support in place to try to make it work.

The Cowboys have the money to pay for babysitters and handlers (kind of pathetic for 20 somethings to need babysitting). They handled Dez, they handled Rolando, they can handle the media. This could work. My biggest concern is if he can bulk up and not get tossed around by NFL lineman.

Really, saying a top 10 talent dropping to 60 for smoking a little weed is the pick most likely to be regretted is nonsense. I mean I don't do the stuff but it wont be long before it is legal in much of the country. I think most regrettable is a stretch. Top 10 at 60 in a position of need w/o injury is a good pick. I hope Randy Gregory proves everyone wrong.

I understand. I guess I just feel like he got a raw deal. It's hard to believe so many passed on him for something seemingly minor.
