Broadway has had an amazing year, but I wonder if his promotion is more based on the Giants not being excited about his long-term prospects, or because they ARE excited about his long-term prospects.

So we still have 13 pitchers, which leaves the bench short. I'd assume Huddy to the DL today when Peaved comes off the DL. Machi sent out when Cain comes back next week, with Tron to the bullpen. The question is: after the ASB, assuming everyone is healhty, which reliever gets sent out for Herk?

I cannot imagine they will send Timmeh packing. He has simply done too much for the org. He was a big part of changing and setting the culture in the clubhouse which led to 2010, 2012 and 2014. He MAY end on the DL, but he will not be DFA'd.

Kontos is a stud. No way he is shown the door. MAYBE he is traded, but he will not be DFA'd.

Vogelsong MAY be DFA'd, but I think he has enough equity with the team to be given a 60-day/retirement option first. I dont think he is there yet, though. I do not, however, see him as a bully candidate. He just does not have the temperament for it.

Strickland is able to be sent down with no ill effects. Depending on how the team is performing, where they are in the standings, and what the health picture looks like, I think this is where the team will need to look. He is a MLB reliever at this point, no question. But the Giants have about 27 MLB-quality relievers right now.

I only see Kontos as a trade target. Timmeh has negative value to another franchise, and I think Vogey is a Giants-For-Lifer (and has next to zero trade value)
