thats still a foul per the rules. we would never see a foul called on 3 pointers and outside shots ater the ball is released if that were the case. there would never be a 4 point play ever if the contact after the shot isnt called.
LOL.

Fans of 29 other teams in the league do believe there is a Lakers whistle. So whether it’s true or not, Lakers are never going to get any sympathy from the vast majority of NBA fans.

My view is that basketball is the most impossible sport to officiate well, and there are going to be calls we all bitch about for “our” teams. If the Nuggets had lost last night, there would have been calls made that their fans would point to as reasons for losing. At the end of the day, play well enough to overcome calls that will invariably go against you.

We are talking about different things. It wasn’t Brooks job to surround KD with shooters. I do wish they would have ran him off sooner though.

Scott Brooks was a miserable NBA coach.

He had James Harden and washed Derek Fisher splitting minutes the year they made the Finals.

Even worse, beyond washed Kendrick Perkins was splitting minutes with Serge Ibaka!

And the worst part about that? Literally the only thing Perkins brought on the court at that time was excellent post defense. And they gave him all those minutes against Miami in the Finals who had almost no post threat!

On top of that…

He allowed KD to match up with LeBron instead of defensive specialist Thabo.

What happens there?

Early foul trouble in multiple games for KD.

All elementary coaching errors that most high school coaches wouldn’t make.

IMO, if OKC had a coach that actually added value…

They win 2-3 titles in that era.

I get LBJ's frustration with the replay reviews. If they were to review every foul, (Not that it makes sense) how many fouls would get overtured for the same reason as the one with DLo? Probably a lot, it's just that not every one of those fouls are getting reviewed. So in LeBron's words.. "What are we doing?"

I mean, I know technically they can only look at this, and they can't look at that but the NFL seems to get these Bang/Bang calls right (Don't laugh, because you know what I mean) So why can't the NBA look at those as a Bang/Bang and get that call consistent with most all calls that are not reviewed?

Bottom line, if it's going as a foul all game, then when we slice it up, and especially when the game is on the line, why would it be overturned? The same foul in the first quarter, should playout the same way as the same foul in the last quarter, review or no review.

What could have been I guess, looking back I just don’t see the shooters besides Durant. But that was a totally different era.

I agree they could have had more shooting. That isn’t Brooks’ fault.

But the way he deployed the players he had is on him.

Well shit, if opposing fans believe it, it has to be true.

My point wasn’t whether it was true or false, it’s just that fans believe it so they aren’t going to sympathize when they perceive that the Lakers get to take some of their own medicine.

All it really does is show their excuse making and jealousy.

Stats like this don’t help The perception:
In the Lakers' case, they attempted more free throws during the regular season than any team but the Orlando Magic despite ranking 25th in paint touches and 27th in drives to the basket.

Funny how players always blame Refs when they lose but never give credit to Refs when they win because of them. When has LeBron ever come out and say “I appreciate the Refs giving me those extra fouls that helped us seal the victory”?

If watched enough Laker games, you would realize he absorbs more foul worthy contact than likely anyone else in the league.

Yeah, that last part especially. It's a fine line that a coach has to walk. He needs to be able to call out the refs without low key providing an excuse for the players. Phil was a master at that.

Maybe Ham could do it in game and get ejected. Could we get that done just after the opening tip?

I don’t think the lakers were saying that’s why they lost it’s just inexcusable to get hit in the face like that and it overturned. At what point is it not about protecting players? The wrong player gets hit like that and says oh that’s not a foul? ok well don’t be surprised when I go hit the guy who hit me. Pretty sure both times Anthony got Davis got hit in face near the end of the season causing him to miss games that neither were foul calls on the play. What would Ron artest/world peace whatever he calls himself these days do?

If this is how the rule is going to be enforced now, it's time for a new defensive strategy.

Wrong. And after the shot is released on 3's is normally because the defender stepped into the shooters landing area which can cause injury.

Your ref bullshit is old and tired.

So hitting a player in the face can't cause injury? Someone should tell AD that those games lost to eye injuries this year weren't necessary.

Fans = short for fanatics, not exactly your most clear-headed evaluators of game play

The ruling was explained. If you don't like it, take it up with the NBA.
