This team is tough to like sometimes. They seem tone deaf and unaware of how stupid they look sometimes

and a lot of it has to do with Vlatko.. Yes he needs to go...

Considering the push and the cards NOT given out in the match, like the US Team nailing the Portugal goalie twice that was an unfair call.

USWNT better figure out how to score and do so quickly as so far they are mediocre going into the next round of play. Defense is playing well, no goals allowed, but if you can't score, a good D really won't matter. Balls do go in.

And I'm sorry but Carli is a bitter soul right now. She's worse than Lexi.

Yeah it was a very weak yellow card imo. Was it a foul? Yes but holy fucking embellishment by the Portugal defender

Everything she said was accurate though. She didn't just sit back and say, "well they are going through and ya go celebrate"

As do I! She isn't being a homer and she is keeping it real and is saying everything that needs to be said and that people don't have the balls to say

Just caught up on yesterday's games. Haven't watched much of the US team the last couple of years but I'd agree no Rose Lavelle is bad news - thought she was by far the best player against Portugal. I'd be frustrated if I was a Portuguese fan that they didn't commit more players forward. Seems like they were fairly conservative although I guess that plan almost worked for them.

England looked good now that Lauren James is starting. If only Keira Walsh hadn't got injured I think we might be the favorites at this point.

I disagree about Carli.
Sometimes you have have to focus on the game and not the distractions/endorsements/etc.
Uninspired play can be attributed to coach/players/culture.

Yeah she is a game changer and has been this World Cup. I would feel a lot more confident in her absence is Pew Pew Pew were on the team but without her and now Rose the US are in a terrible position because I don't see Vlatko making the necessary changes. Only possible saving grace is that the US has a few days to practice WITHOUT her (Rose) and they know she won't be there.

Curious on what necessary changes he could make at this juncture. Problem has been up top scoring... who solves that? Sure you could bring Ertz up to the 6 and play Cook or Sonnet at center back, but would/could you trust them against Sweden?

Move Dunn to midfield, let Kelly play back with Fox?

The midfield has not been dynamic enough to create chances for their forwards.
Thus, it's all about individual effort to get a goal.

I might go 3-4-3 and try to get that diamond in the middle with Ertz as the anchor.
Just haven't liked what I've seen from DeMelo/Sullivan in the midfield.
But, he didn't really give time to other midfielders (Mewis, Sanchez?), so he might be stuck in playing them.

Not good.
