The Niners renting CY for nine games, in their culture, which Trent Williams already has been successful in, for the low price of a comp pick they dont even have yet shows the caliber of their front office.

On the other hand, trading Sweat to the 2-6 Bears for what will be a high second rounder is a move that lets us all say “at least we’re not the Bears.”

It’d be nice to finally make shrewd moves as consistenly as the Niners do, or the Eagles, or the Chiefs, etc.

Planning long term is a good start.

That is why the most important thing that harris does is hire that first GM.

The GM:

Build the roster by implementing the draft strategy and free agent approach.

Hire the head coach.

Build the infrastructure of the front office.

This should be a transition year, but if Rivera pulls a rabbit out of the hat, he might be retained.

If Rivera is retained, I am gone. A fluke year doesnt make everything better that I mentioned above.
