that .926 OPS translates to a 162 OPS+

Which is just about in line with his career number

there was never really anything to worry about his previous struggles imo

it was mostly BABIP luck, and his .291 BABIP is still well below his career norm (.337). his HR/FB rate is also below his career norm (20.8% vs. 31.4%), but his average EV is in line with previous seasons. I don't think it's a stretch to say the crappy spring weather has played a role in that. he's also underperforming his Statcast metrics (.273 xBA, .605 xSLG, .420 xwOBA). his K% is also currently a career best 24.2% so I'd expect more positive regression for Judge

Marcelo Mayer off to a hot start in Portland. .310/.359/.496, only 3 home runs but 15 doubles. Would like to see him walk more, but he's brought the K% down. This is nice to see after he struggled last year (injuries)

Removing a guy with a 2.5 era 2 months into the season would be nuts

Gotta say, Jarren Duran is becoming one of my favorite Sox. He's improved so much defensively (tied for 3rd most OAA among OF and has +10 DRS) and he has a fun offensive profile. Not a serious home run threat, but he hits the ball hard enough with his GB/LD profile that allows him to turn grounders into singles and can easily leg out doubles/triples. He has a .157 ISO despite having just one home run, thanks to him having 13 doubles and 6 triples. Also on pace for 30+ stolen bases. Kinda reminds me of Ellsbury.

I think Cortez might be the odd man out or at least should be when Cole is back @nynasty @Pure Steel

Clarke and Gil been too damn good

Someone else will have some issues between now and whenever Cole returns.

Shit will work itself out. Nice problem to have at the moment however

Orioles are riding a 2 game winning streak with the black city connect/white pants combo. The all black was a curse and a half.
