Trade Murray in a package with Johnson for an elite Dman. Let someone else be suckered by his constantly failing goaltending
Yes, not a fan of the length of the contract^ Question about Tanev. Are you ok with the six years? I am not sure I get the contract for a bottom 6 forward. Let me know what I am missing.
Also with the other minor league signings they brought back Blandisi.
Honestly i am not familiar with him as a player either. There is a lot of talk this could be a sleeper signing but just looking at his numbers it seems he is no more than a bottom 6 player which why the contract scares me.Yes, not a fan of the length of the contract

Well at least they didn't really overpay. Tanev's salary is on par with what he brings, but yea the 6-yr term is a head scratcher when he's 27 yrs old. A guy like Hagelin just got 4 years making $750k less per season.Honestly i am not familiar with him as a player either. Update: Zach Aston-Reese signs two year contract with Penguins, worth $1 million annually
I dig it. Sort of like signing a mini #72 for less & younger. Plays some of his best hockey when he uses the body on the boards.
Obviously somethings got to give with MP28’s contract, that’ll be higher and with ZAR’s new deal next to no money available sans a trade
Updated Pens Salary Cap, How to Sign Pettersson without a Trade
2 problems working against them with Johnson...Marcus Pettersson's agent: No deal until Penguins clear cap space
Honestly though I don't see one of the three of Rust, Bjugstad or Johnson being on the roster come the start of the season.
I think they are waiting for one of these moves, whatever it is to get the deal done.
Oh yeah without a doubt and I FIFY...2 problems working against them with Johnson...
1. This front office still thinks his worth is much higher than it is.
2. (probably most important) Nobody wants him. It's pretty much that simple.
They'll have to package his ass with someone more alluring just to get rid of the stink of his contract that scares other teams awayOh yeah without a doubt and I FIFY...
Thank you Sid! Kessel is someone elses one dimensional problemSo Malkin told the Pens to trade him or Kessel? And Crosby insisted Malkin stay?
