I just don't know what people see in him?

The kid has heart, and drive, but an NFL caliber QB, I don't see it, not yet.
Add to it this: all evidence showed hew could come in and initially throw a defense onto it's heals only for them to quickly adjust. That doesn't make an NFL caliber QB.

Just a simple stat, not an all telling stat by any means, but career win/loss record as a starter;

Trevor Lawrence 20-28
Mac Jones 18-24
Justin Fields 10-28
Zach Wilson 12-21

Bailly Zappe 4-4

Sample size is smaller than all, but he's the only one close to .500.

Until you add in Trey Lance 2-2 with an even smaller sample size.

Would I go into battle with Zappe as the lead?
No.
Has he proven he can win? Yes.
Will he beat out Milton or Brissett? I doubt it. Is it possible? Yeah, maybe.

Are there worse backups? Yeah hell there are worse starters.

But I see him getting cut and the Pats keeping three. Brissett to start early with Maye the primary backup, gradually moving to Maye, at some point Milton also passes Brissett, maybe during summer camp 2025.

You are right small sample and you have to consider the level of competition. When you play 48 games vs 8 games you are bound to face tougher teams. My point in my initial response is that, to me, he's proven nothing that makes me feel his an NFL Caliber QB, at least starting QB. Could he hold the clipboard? Yeah, I guess, someone has to!

Really he's Zappe has proven to you he play at this level? We must have seen two different Zappe's. In fact I would go as far as to say the reason we took two QBs is there are none in NE right now worth a shit.
I'm talking backup for game 1.
I don't think he has what it takes to be a good starter but someone has to backup while others develop.....

What evidence? His game film shows him starting with a good drive and often a TD then throwing pics.

You seem not to be a believer in Zappe, why not provide details why instead of posting non replies?
Sure.

12 INTS
11 TDs

Anytime any QB is tossing more INTs than TDs it's more than fair to question if he in an NFL Caliber QB, at least a starting QB. I mentioned earlier I have no issues with him holding the clipboard, I am confident he can do that.

Fair to question.

Brett Favre.
1991. 2 INT's 0 TD's. Not an NFL starting QB? Oh just needed time.
1993. 2 years later. 24 INT's to 19 TD's. Not an NFL starter? Or just still not ready?
2005. 29 INT's to 20 TD's.
2006. 18 to 18.
2008. 20 to 20.
2010. 19 INT's to 11 TD's.

I'll bet more than one Green Bay fan is still glad he wasn't just holding a clip board.

Fair point for yesterday's gunslinger mentality, I feel the today's game requires a lot more precision, but I get it. I always felt Farve was overrated as QB, but that is a personal thing. My point in regard to Zappe is that I do not see him as a starting caliber QB, and I don't think the Pats due either. Why bring back Jacoby and draft two QBs if Zappe is the answer? Could he prove me wrong? Sure I guess! I just don't see what others see in him.
