Thought we had a thread about holsters, but couldn't find it.

I have been thinking of getting one of Safarilands new GLS concealment holsters. I've never been quite happy with any of my holsters for my little Glock 26 but this one looks promising. Its of similar design to the ALS holster I have for my Glock 23 but is supposed to be sucked up closer to the body. It is available in a paddle also, which I really prefer.

Anybody have a any good recommendations for concealment holsters?

A buddy of mine stopped by yesterday and showed me his Versacarry that he has for his M&P Shield. Cool concept but I don't like carrying with the gun right up against my skin.

Big fan of my Crossbreed IWB holster. Little rough at first when new but once it gets formed to you it is hardly noticed. Plus you can trim it down if need be for a smaller gun.

I have the super tuck now.

Is that what you carry your Glock 19 in?

I've looked at those over and over on the internet but would like to try one on before purchasing.

I use a Kholster for my PF9 and my Shield and really like 'em. It's about the same thing as a Crossbreed, maybe a little cheaper. One of the good things about Kholster (others may) is that you can trim the leather to your needs and they'll still honor their warranty. I ended up trimming both of mine.

I need to find a local business that has some of these to try on.

That'd be the thing to do if you can find somebody. After wearing mine a few days I ended up cutting the top so it didn't stick in my side when I leaned over to my right, made a world of difference. Here's the one I wore today, it came as a full circle....

Yes sir it is.

It is leather and takes some breaking in but once it is it is by far the most comfortable IWB holster I have had.

I trimmed mine down to exactly the size of my G19 and it is perfect now.

That's always been my problem with the IWBs, I can't find one that doesn't make me squirm around and adjust it constantly. I think once I get my Shield I'll invest in one of these designs.

Wore the Safariland GLS with my Glock 26 all weekend. Very comfortable, nice and snug up against the body (more so than the ALS line). Still not as concealable as an IWB especially in shorts and t-shirt type weather. But as far as regular hip holsters, it doesn't show a whole lot of printing.

I carry my 1911 in a De Santis hip holster during most months, in the summer I either go with it in the small of my back, or a smaller 9mm shield in cargo shorts pocket, not much printing there.

AlienGear is locked in a legal battle with Crossbread over copyright. Basically same holster and cheaper.

I didn't know that. There seem to be a ton of holsters similar to the crossbreed at this point though. Why are they picking on AlienGear? I can name about 20 hybrid makers off the top of my head...

And the reason that shy away from Crossbreed is the owner rubbed my wrong, really wrong, in an email years back. Just seemed like a douche bag that didn't want to answer questions and got pissy when I pushed for specifics. Not a huge deal (maybe his dog died that morning) but with the options available I just go elsewhere.

I also wasn't aware that Crossbreed invented the hybrid holster. The first time I saw one of those designs I believe was Tucker Gunleather (good dude too, very honest and hard-working) YEARS ago. I always assumed that he was the first but that Crossbreed was the one that gained fame with it. Of course that's just an assumption...

I find it strange they would go after them. Hell, Galco has a Crossbread rip off. You would think you get more money out of them.

The guy that founded Crossbreed died, so you won't have to deal with him anymore.

Now that you mention it I do remember hearing that.

And you're right, you would think they would be going after Galco and Comp-Tac etc...
