Interesting footnote for the Sunday game between the Royals and White Sox- 2/3 of the former DVD prospect trio will be facing one another as Danks squares off against Volquez. No word on whether Thomas Diamond was able to get tickets and be present as well.

Adrian Beltre sent Garrett Richards a $300 invoice for broken bats

Adrian Beltre billed Garrett Richards for all his broken bats. (USATSI)

Last season Angels right-hander Garrett Richards was one of the best pitchers in baseball and a legitimate Cy Young contender. This season Richards is working his way back from a devastating knee injury that prematurely ended his 2014 campaign in August.

Richards has made two starts this month since returning from his knee injury, and on Friday night he held the Rangers to two runs on three hits and three walks in seven innings. He looked like the Garrett Richards of last season, basically.

During the game Friday night, Richards broke Adrian Beltre's bat three times, including once to get a double play. After the game, Beltre sent Richards a bill for the bats:

That is pretty wonderful.

There is going to be a long debate when Beltre is up for the Hall of Fame. I say he should be in based on his off-the-field hijinks alone.

Pretty funny, though the writers take on there being a long debate about AB's HOF potential is off a bit to me

Don't forget today's game is a 2:30 game time one, and Matinez is on the hill.

Who would have ever guessed before the end of April I'm actually encouraged by Martinez's presence on the hill, as far as giving us our best chance at a win?

Lewis did the same last night but Banny and the offence saw it different and you are right about Marty.

And wasn't that a real shame? Boy, Colby really showed what he's made of, but I could feel it about the 5th inning that this game isn't ours to take. We can't effing score. Sadly so.

But hey, today is a new day.

I just don't understand how you let Adam fucking Rosales hit with the bases loaded, and the game on the line. :L

Like I said, I'm very dissapointed in the strings Bannister is pulling so far.

Like I said, I'm very disappointing in the strings Bannister is pulling so far.

I honestly tried to stir-the-pot a little on the managerial front last night and got nowhere. And I wasn't trying to be devils advocate either.

Some of his moves are dumbfounding to me. And some of his, lack-of-moves, is even more perplexing.

Not panicking at this early date. But readily admit, it's disconcerting at best to see what is/isn't happening outta the dugout IMO to date.

Like it or not, we had, what appeared to be a damn good man in Bogar. And Banister is no spring-chicken. He should have his ducks-in-a-row a whole lot better than he does, at least to me.

I got stuck in an elevator at work heading out to grab some lunch. I actually preferred it to watching Adam Rosales play baseball.

And the elevator music was Kenny G!
