What an idiot. If I failed two tests in college, I'm damn sure going to go into the combine, with a chance to make 'set for life' money, clean as a whistle.

It's not the smoking of weed, that's no big deal. But the decision making gaffe, that is bothersome.

Though it's not as big a deal for a defensive player, as compared to a quarterback, for example, I'm still not drafting him in the first round. Take him in the second and be happy about it.

Actually, kind of a genius strategic move, when you look at it like that.

What makes this worse for him, other than likely costing himself $10+ mil, this automatically puts him in the drug program. Instead of rarely getting tested at predetermined dates, he will now be subject to weekly tests & one step closer to a suspension.

That I did not know. Interesting that he isn't even poart of the league (union) yet but they can already hold him to the agreement...only in the NFL...

Exactly. You've been popped twice already...maybe he thought he could mask it, idk. That bothers me more than a single positive test.

But...he should go 2nd rd as a deterrent to others, but there's still a good chance that he goes in the 1st rd...now that NO has the 31st...I can see them taking him in either spot...13 or 31...certainly the Pats @ 32 won't leave a top 5 talent on the board.

Gregory is one of the strangest prospects to come out in a while.

He is incredibly skinny. WR skinny. The immediate thought is that he isn't going to be an every down player early on his career while he gains weight and strength.

But then you look at his tape and it turns out he actually isn't a very good pass rusher yet but was actually quite stout against the run and really is a naturally tough football player.

And now he has a positive weed test working against him.

It is going to be interesting to see where he goes. My guess is still 1st round but who knows. Having a guy who needs to gain at least 20lbs and who also might have attitude issues could make for a pretty bad combo. To be a successful 1st round pick a team is going to need to get this kid in and work him to death in that 1st year to gain weight. So knowing that the weed issue isn't a bigger sign of lack of dedication to the sport is going to be huge because this isn't a kid who is so naturally gifted that he can walk into the league and have an impact.

When I watch him, he looks vulnerable low. But, that may be more of a deterrent to his effectiveness at the college level than the pros, and even in college now, you cant go low when blocking. Way back in the stone age, he would be really vulnerable especially with those knees. It used to be legal to have one guy stand a defensive lineman up, while another chopped the defender down. And those legs just look like a target.

But it's a different game today. If he has sufficient upper body strength, and if he has quickness and moves to get off blocks, he can be effective.

I remember Harvey Martin, played for the Cowboys. He had those skinny legs too, and was a good pass rusher and player.

I'm not saying pot is bad but when it's against the rules and you are busted 3 times that says a lot about the player.
