Pens didn't look too bad, but of course they get scored on by Bortuzzo and Goc. It just had to be. At least they got a point out of it.

Giving up the two goal lead wasn't ideal, team played ok, they still look a bit off, especially in the offensive zone.

Another grind it out trap fest.

Yeah, they lost in the OT, but my overview of the season is that hockey as we currently see it at the NHL level is as boring and uninteresting as I've seen it in over a decade. The Penguins will not win another cup in the Crosby/Malkin era, nor sniff even an eastern conference finals if the game continues in this clutch and grab, trap and interfere style of play. It stifles offense and creativity. That's the Penguins strong suit, and this style of play flies in the face of what the Penguins have to offer.

I think the problem is they don't finish. They have plenty of great looks at the net and nobody can freaking score....I'm looking at you Skid

This team is an abomination. Can't score without Geno...Horrible...I wish they wouldn't make the playoffs.

Let's hope Letang is ok. Bout time they won but it was scarier than it should have been...great to have Malkin and Horny back

I guess Sid was the beneficiary of the new rule requiring a definite kicking motion, but I don't know if I like that.

At least we could beat crappy teams from the Western Conference. That should serve us well in the playoffs…

If they weren't screwed before Letang's injury, they will be going forward. Really have to hope he is back by the beginning of the playoffs, but with his history, I could see this being like a month long thing, or more.

Good for the NHL, though. That grit and tenacity is what the league is all about these days. Doan finishes an unnecessary hit in the corner, away from the puck, and another star player is removed from the game. Doan didn't even get a stern talking to by the ref, who was standing 15 feet away. It wasn't overly dirty, but a completely useless hockey play, by a pretty irrelevant hockey player. He's got a tee time in three weeks to look forward to, and Letang's got headaches, dark rooms and dizziness for three.

The NHL and you agree, Scouty.

“We have decided not to assess any supplemental discipline to Shane Doan. After reviewing the play carefully and from all angles, we have determined that this was an unfortunate result from a hockey play,” said the NHL in a statement.

“It is not boarding, it is not charging, he doesn't hit him in the head. He finishes his check by shoving Letang and unfortunately, he falls awkwardly. It wasn't really even a violent hit, although resulted in an unfortunate injury.”
