Thus, I am the one who needs help! WTF do people get out of reliving this southern slavery bullshit? Does it make peeps feel morally good because they no longer condone such behavior?? I mean, if there was a good story and the flavor of that period was apparent it would almost be palatable. But to make an entire film about a few honky assholes being douchebags to the help 70 years ago is pointless misery.

I have regrettably seen the movie and not to sound stupid but its quite racist towards white people. Its straight garbage that it won any awards.

I saw the movie... it didn't seem racist to white people to me, just showed how some of them behaved toward their hired help.

I loved all the toilets dropped off to the best yard in the neighborhood.

It was a good flick IMO and the issues depicted still exist. People still view certain people in an inferior light. Maybe not based on 'color' but on other things. And we still have people who are swayed more but what others think and peer pressure than by doing what's right.

It's easy to do what people want you to do and can be costly to 'do the right thing'. That's still a problem today.

You might want to look at how the Japanese and Chinese feel about each other. There are plenty of instances of racism not involving whites.
