Default do i even want to open this can of worms?

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/16/sc...g.html?_r=1&hp

Leaked documents suggest that an organization known for attacking climate science is planning a new push to undermine the teaching of global warming in public schools, the latest indication that climate change is becoming a part of the nation’s culture wars.

Good. It takes picking a fight to bring to Americans attention that these assholes are STILL teaching this phoney bullshit to kids. I think most of us just forgot about this scam since it left the papers.

well, actually Goldman Sachs did to create a new trading market.

As long as they teach global warming as a theory, I have no problem with it. However, I find it hard to believe that any lesson plan on the subject will be completely fact based and not show any bias to either belief.

Yeah I saw that yesterday.
Talk about a return to the dark ages where politics/religion determine what is taught.

No surprise that organization is heavily funded by companies with a vested interest in climate change being debunked.

As long as they add text in the book that goes along the lines of "it should also be noted that the earth shows records of having multiple ice ages and major climate shifts...all before mankind even existed in todays form"

Clearly, from all of the fossil evidence, life DID evolve...unless you are one of those yahoos who think that God planted all of that stuff to challenge our faith. As if a just and loving God would fill the earth with phony but convincing evidence, then send us to Hell when we fell for it. I don't know about your God, but mine isn't a con artist.

Anyway, while evolution is pretty much beyond dispute, the how and why of it is pure theory. Science's best guess is random mutation and natural selection, but when you take a closer look, those two things provide a grossly inadequate explanation.
