Facts always make you laugh and deflect since I'm more often right.

It is a partisan and ignorant statement to imply that, if not for those pesky Democrats, the debt would be eliminated. The OP was not about political blame anyway, so introducing that statement only causes division when the truth is that BOTH parties are at fault for the rising deficits and debt.

OMG & LMFAO Such a silly boy. I'm sure FDR and Johnson appreciate your joke, but Tip Oneil thinks it's a bit of a stretch!

Poor Juice. See, my position is clearly correct: that both parties are to blame and demonstrably don't truly care about the deficit or reducing debt. You, on the other hand, are beholden to an incorrect belief that Republicans are the party of reducing the debt when facts clearly show this not to be true.

Yes, your position is clearly correct. Democrats are for smaller gov't and the GOP just keeps harping about more bennies. Clearly, you're spot-on.

Why Growth Matters More than Debt - The American Magazine

Quote:
Why is today’s debt burden—as measured by the “interest bite”—lower than the headlines and political rhetoric make it sound? Because even though the debt level is currently growing at a rapid pace, the interest rate on the new debt we’ve been issuing is as close to zero as it has ever been. A near-zero interest rate results in a near-zero interest bite on any level of debt. That’s the good news, but it carries with it an ominous qualification: when the debt level is skyrocketing, as it is today, any increase in the interest rate will quickly cause the interest bite to skyrocket as well—unless it’s offset by additional tax receipts generated by a rapidly growing economy.
