Default Any of you ever been to a Presidential Library?

I've only been to Reagan's...was out in L.A. and took an afternoon to rent a car and drive up there. It was pretty fucking cool.

Been in HW's library a lot. As an econ major, it was a cool place to go over to between classes. Saw Condi, Laura Bush, and HW speak there during my student days.

I see HW has a piece of the Berlin wall there like Reagan's. Of course, we'd probably be speaking Russian or Japanese if Bush would've won the nomination in '80.

I know there is a huge section encased in plexi inside the library. I think the outside bits are a recreation.

Hmmm. I wonder if the one at Reagan's is a recreation. It has faded considerably in the CA sun. I fear the memory of how to dismantle a tyrannical gov't has faded as well.

That looks like the real deal. Maybe HW's is real as well, I just remember it being a tall section like in your picture. but it looked similar, the holes in it that I think were used for transporting make it look like the real thing.

I was at Harry Truman's and Lyndon Johnson's. Pretty impressive. Would advise anyone that has the chance to see any presidential library.

They're built by donations and partly maintained by taxes - I think. Something like that.

They are built by private donations and maintained by private money and some public money.

They aren't sink holes like the actual library, art museums, etc. in this country.
