1. Bryz- Damn, very solid. Saw the highlights though, and the Suter goal was A LOT worse from my angle. Bryz played that really supidly, but the rest of the game more than makes up for it.

2. Simmonds- 10 fucking shots

Read- Nice.

Stars
Bryz - ya that's good. Two in a row, thanks.

Simmonds - best skater from the outset.

Read - not slow.

Goats
None?

Agree with both of you on picks but would have #3 at Read/Voracek(tie)
Voracek played a hard game, looking like a Hartnell clone with his net crashing.

1. Simmonds. I know everyone loves the goalie, but Simmonds was strong on the puck, on his first goal, making life hell for the goalie prior to scoring his second goalie, and most importantly, when he had two goals, an empty net, the puck, and a little time in the defensive zone... he cleared the puck and got off the ice. I'm sure the man would've loved a hat trick, but he chose to do the right thing for the team. That makes him star number one.
2. Bryzgalov - got demoted to second star only because Simmonds is a true team player. While I don't like the amount he was sitting on his butt during some of the third period scrambles, and he got lucky on a few shots that were whiffed/shot wide, he handled exactly what we want from him - stopped everything he should have a few he shouldn't have.
3. Voracek - could be one of a number of Flyers, but I guess I remember Voracek the most. Read had the semi-SH goal, but Voracek was keeping the play going a lot of the night. Hartnell had some solid defensive plays and hits and was in the mix offensively, and Sestito/Rinaldo both had some good plays. Jagr was also very selfless in giving the EN goal to Giroux.

Goats -

1. Couturier - with the rare terrible giveaway in our defensive zone, and I don't really remember much from him otherwise. Didn't play badly, but the one play stuck out.
2. Lilja, just because I thought he was a rookie and not 36. Holy shit, really? I was forgiving you for shit because I thought you were young and would learn.
3. Getting back on D - a few times we got caught pretty badly. Can't give Hornquist that many chances with the puck, he's not that bad.

lol @ lilja, and ya that was a dreadful turnover by coots.. might've been his first of the season, but that was quite a doozy.. i was shocked when that happened

voracek is a good choice too.. he was really after it.. i wonder what lindback said to get him to crash the net so hard

also want to mention something else, but i dont wanna jinx it.. but it's a phase of the flyers game that has been going very well of late

Just watching the highlights on CSN. From what I could gather it seemed we had the step last night. Sweet.

*Honorable mention to Zac's hit behind the net. Damn great to see him back and healthy eh boys?

yeah we had a good step, minus the first ten mintues. nashville is no doubt a very talented team.

My wife was reading on the couch and I scared the shit out of her after yelling "Hooly Shit" after Zac's hit. That had to be #2 behind Schenn's against the B's. And how about Schenn? He hits everything that moves. He does like to play physical. Simmonds AND Schenn for Richards!

Correction: First star of the game goes to Sam Gagner. Technically he didn't, you know, actually play in this game, but he had four goals and four assists. Sorry Simmonds!

Stars:
1. Bryzgalov. Good job coming into that mess and making a few good saves.
2. Jagr/Giroux. We scored.
3. Discipline, both for providing something to build on in the third and for not physically assaulting...

Goats.
1. The refs.
2. The refs.
3. Seriously, fuck the refs.

Stars:

1. Schenn
2. Simmonds
3. Refs

GOATS:

1. Bryz
2. I dont have enough room to fit Mesz, Carle, Bourdon, and Coburn in just 2 spots.
3. Christ the above mentioned are terrible.

Officially off the Bryz bandwagon. There is no defending this game.
