As for the shirts, the shirt printers print them for BOTH teams before the game, but I'm sure you already knew that.

REALLY?
I just assumed the printers took on major expense, moved all the equipment to set up a temporary print shop on site to quickly knock out the hats and shirts as soon as the outcome was certain. I always thought is was an expensive way to do it and all, moving all that equipment and stuff... but you don't want to look dumb and print the wrong stuff, right? That would be silly.

It happens every year. It's my understanding local printers for both teams have contracts with the leagues (I know there's a Boston area printer that does). It hasn't always been this way, but you know how it is. They want your $$$ RIGHT after the game. I'm sure there's a NYC printer getting some ready as we speak.

Including the HTML for both teams websites, ESPN, NFL.com, New York Times, NY Post, Boston Globe, etc., etc., front pages, etc., etc.

Same for every major sporting event.

I'm sure somewhere in the third world right now there is a small village adorned in Canucks Stanley Cup gear.

Really? I just went to the Patriots online pro shop and there's nothing for the SB champs on sale yet, or even advertised. I only live 20 minutes from Gillette Stadium. I wonder what time the pro shop opens?

Well I saw a local tv program in the past few years where they went to the print shop in the Boston area who has the licensed contract with the leagues. They may have a some printed before hand, but if the Pats win today, they'll be printing all night into tomorrow.

He may have a local contract, but I guarantee you the NFL uses more print shops than that guy, and there are boxes waiting to ship out tomorrow morning from NFL.com/shop

But the NFL money-printing marketing machine needs only 1/3 of a 30 second commercial to have a years worth pre-printed for each side.
