Man, Marchand was a hair off of being offsides too. Wowza.

Bruins played a pretty good game...and they locked down our top scoring pretty well. Chara looked a bit...nervous? Maybe that's the wrong word, but he was misplaying a lot of pucks and got a bit to peeved about being hit. Anyway, good stuff. I'm sure we'll see eachother come spring.

Great game. These two teams play some great physical and exciting hockey.

Hey, Brooksy was Roots' player of the game. I loved his play today. But I am biased because he's my favorite player.

And thanks Fleury.

The Bruins seem snake bitten right now. I just want them playing at the top of their game come playoff time. I can't think the November/December record was a fluke. Too much talent on this team.

I thought he also had some really great defensive plays too. And not just that one on Geno.

Ahh, yes...the play in which my feed crapped out. Hahah. All I heard (didn't see, it froze) was "Malkin takes the puck, and with Neal, a 2-on-1...*silence*"

Couldn't finish (not sure how much of that was the Bruins and how much of that was Fleury - probably a combination). Saw a lot of that on the Pens six game losing streak. I know it's a cliche, but it's a cliche for a reason - never as good as you look when you're on; never as bad as you look when things are down. I think the Bruins are either the top team in the East or one of the top two with the Rags, but I don't think they are unbeatable in a seven game series as they looked during their streak.

The Bruins are 8-8-1 in their last 17, which I believe is since the Christmas break. I've always hated long layoffs when a team is doing good, but you love them when the team is playing bad. I'm sure some Bruins fans are panicking right now, but I'm not one of them. Most teams go through stretches like this during a season.

He laid down and he's a fucking giant so he made it look easy to take the puck off Malkin while sliding. Geno looked pissed.

And honestly if you're worst stretch is playing .500, that isn't too bad. I think I would be more "concerned" (I put that in quotes because it's not THAT big of a deal) about the inconsistency.

Any team is beatable. A few bad bounces here and there can knock the best teams out, along with some great goal tending. I saw it in 1971 when the Bruins were on the short end of the stick, and last year when goal tending carried us to the cup.

True, but my point is, when you're on that kind of roll you hate having 5 days or so off, but it is what it is. You welcome those breaks when you're not playing well and/or need the time to heal.

I was on the fence about it when the All Star break came and the Pens were on a seven gamer. On one hand, Fleury needed rest and Johnson has been shit for the majority of the season; on the other hand, I agree with you...fuck breaks when we're playing well. We came back and sucked (including the "win" against Toronto which was a goddamn gift from the hockey gods). And then Johnson played well in our loss.

So in summation: fuck breaks when you're playing well.

I believe my exact quote during that first Leafs game was "Fuck you Allstar break."

I just watched the video of the Orpik hit.

Today was family day and I did not see any of the game. From what I have seen it was a solid game to watch. First 2 game losing streak in 2 months for the Bruins.
