E... A... Sports. It's in the game. AND IT PISSES ME OFF.

So, one reason I have been absent is I just bought a PS3 (As I promised I'd do when a final release date for GT5 was announced). I also picked up NHL 10 and started messing around with the Be A Pro mode.

So I played in their stupid prospects game. Scored one and a helper. Got drafted 12th overall by Columbus (an omen, I thought). Get assigned to Syracuse and played in 44 games and amassed 71 points (I am a winger). Steadily moved from the third line to the first. I figure any day now, I'm gonna crack the big club. Get that "Good news about your future" message.

They fucking traded me. TO PITTSBURGH! I don't even want to touch the game ever again. Who wants to play in that shit hole with that pansified buncha bums??

Anyone have any tips on how to get myself traded to a better team in a Be A Pro mode?

try yelling at the coach, or calling out the stars on the team to the media.

I don't really know. Maybe play beter than your contract so they have to trade you. Or just suck so bad they want you out of town

I tried running the remainder of the season as a sim, but I got sent to Wilkes-Barre, and kept getting yelled at by the coach for not trying hard enough. Still won the AHL scoring title though.

And puck - I did yell, but the only person who heard me was Mrs 43. "YES I AM DISINTERESTED! I DON'T WANT TO PLAY FOR YOU!"

When Free Agency came around, all I got offered was a 1 year in Phoenix and one in Pittburgh.

I've played a total of eight or so seasons across NHL 09 and NHL 10. Never been traded once.

take the Pehonix deal, work hard and you'll get traded to a contender.....atleast from my experiance from the "southern" teams in Be a Pro

Are you playing the Be A Pro mode where you are one guy and one guy only on the ice? You get drafted and have to prove yourself and are responsible for being in the right place during the game as opposed to being able to switch to someone else when you are caught out...

Can you bang a teammate's wife in the sim? I think that's a good way to get traded.

I always save a lot, keep two save files recent. That way if you get traded you can go back a few days. A lot of times the same things dont happen again.

I did that with franchise for the dumb thing where you have to get your GM rating between you and other teams up, and sometimes it messes up your team...

Nor would the Blue Jackets trade away such a stud.

And I only became disinterested after the trade. Having Gonchar on D behind you is too much pressure to constantly cover for his stupid ass.

No, I was playing GM mode, and you should have seen this other trade. Marion Gaborik and Henrik Lundquist from the Rangers to the Blues in exchange for the Blues having to take Glen Sather with them. It was the oddest thing I've ever YES I WAS PLAYING BE A PRO

Of course, I play on "Pro" difficulty, which for the uninitiated is basically normal difficulty, but since it's so easy to take shots, and I love to be snipers, I usually lead the NHL in points.

I've started a new save file as an offensive defenseman, because you have to be a little more creative to score there. I'd really love to be a playmaker, but unfortunately the season goals for them are so unrealistic, and you have to rely on the AI to score to meet them, which is always a gamble.

Not sure how NHL 11 will turn out. I mean, new physics system looks cool, but stick breaking had better have the right frequency, or at least give you an option to pick a stick that breaks less. Don't want to see it happening seven times a game.

i never could get into the Be a Pro mode.. love the idea.. but 1. i take too many penalties cause i wanna hit everyone.. and 2. i can never score.. the scoring in that game is insane.. i'll work the puck around and control it on the offensive zone for like 7 minutes (game time) and not be able to beat the goal.. they consistently get 40 saves against me while i outshoot them like 42-11 (and lose, 3-2

).. thats playing on all-star, i think, whatever one is above pro.. i haven't played in a while cause my roommate owned the game, not me

crazy excited for 11 though.. the physics engine sounds so incredible.. as far as the break stick thing, i'm sure it will be one of the frequency sliders that they have for other stuff (like penalties)..

Sounds like me. I have to play smart or I am in the box all the time. I can never score either. Tons of shots but not many goals. I try auto aim, manual aim, still the goalie makes great saves. I did read that it will be easier to score in NHL11.

ya i saw that too.. probably makes me just as excited.. i felt like when i was playing i was playing exactly how it goes in real life.. cycling around, working it to the point and getting guys to the front of the net.. it was so real to me (which was/is awesome), just never got the goals

I never play with computers offline. I do BAP online. My stats are something like 750+ GP, 2100 P.

yea i play be a pro online. i think my stats are 600 games and 1000 points. it would probably be more except my router was being stupid for a week and kept kicking me out of games.

gunna be honest haven't played much online.. how does the BAP online work? do you play with other guys that play a different position? aka 12 different users online at the same time, in the same game?
