Well, first of all, they don't mention his name every day.

Second, I have trained my brain to shut off when recruiting talk comes on. Hell, I listen the the basketball talk before I give a shit about the recruiting talk. I still have no clue where this Pete guy plays, where he is from, and where he is going to school. I know it isn't Nebraska because of all you girls crying over a 17-18 year old dude. I actually heard a guy a week or so ago say, "when Pete got accepted (to some school not named Nebraska) it killed me". A 17-18 year old kid getting accepted into another school "killed him". Oh how I wish that was true!!!! Thinning the herd.

You're right. It's over the top when a guy says publicly that it "killed him".

It is however going to kill us when we face elite pass rushers and we have no one who can consistently keep our quarterbacks backside protected.

I'd give the Captial One bowl as an example, but that was just a microcosm of our problems in that game.

Like I've said Jed, if you don't think recruiting matters, look at Alabama's recruiting class rankings over the last 4 or 5 years.
Recruiting rankings and season results:
2007 - 10th
2008 - 1st
2009 - 1st - BCS Title
2010 - 5th
2011 - 1st - BCS Title
2012 - 1st

They're gonna win another title within the next 2 years if Saban stays. I guarantee it.

Texas has has an average recruit ranking of 3.66 the last 3 years and over the last 2 years their record is 13-12.

Look at Georgia's consistent top 10 classes. How many conference titles do they have.

Look at Philip Fullmer's classes at Tennessee. Yeah they won a title in 1998 but where did those good classes get him? Fired!!!

I have heard the name but never knew who he was. I figured he was a recruit so I didn't bother to care. Never saw his name in print so have no clue how to spell his name. Still don't know what position he plays or where he ended up going. I also don't care.
