I don't agree with the way he handled the Sandusky thing, but I feel badly for him and his family especially since I know what it's like to lose parents because I've lost both of mine. My heart goes out to his family in this time of sorrow.

The guy was a villian a couple months ago. Seems like everyone just forgot what they were saying a couple of months ago on ESPN.

Not so sure I agree with all the respect he's getting. Not saying it's wrong, I don't think there is a right or wrong stance on this. You either like him for what he did for that program and the kids he coached, or you don't like him for what he turned a blind eye to and could care less what he did football related.

Unfortunately for Joe, a lifetime of building up integrity can be wiped a way in one moment.

The guy has passed away now so a lot of people are showing respect for him out of kindness for his family. Just think though, he could have been a hero just by going to the police when it was obvious his superiors were just going to sweep this under the rug.

What was he thinking?!

I agree completely. People are calling it a mistake. It wasn't a mistake. It was blatant.

I honestly believe that JoePa thought the situation was handled and wasnt as bad as it was made out to be. No one was more devasted about what happenend to those kids then JoePa and he took guilt to the grave. I believe he has asked forgiveness for his transgressions and is in heaven right now. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Joepa's troubles are over...if you're going to pray than pray for those individuals that were assaulted by Sandusky, they will have to live with those horrors for many more years...They are the victims, not Joepa.

Did you know prayer is scientifically proven to have zero positive effect on a sick patient? It actually increases the chance of complications if the patient knows that people are praying for them.

I don't know about this, but it seems like a lot of times the opposite happens that people are praying for. We had to place my Mom in a nursing home after my Dad died because she had Alzheimer's. While she was still somewhat with it, she said she was praying for death every night. I told her that as long as she prays for her death, she may be getting the exact opposite of what she wants.

She passed away in January of 2011.

A pretty reliable source that is close to the director of football operations (for now) told me that he did in fact pass away that night, but they wanted to keep it quiet till the next day so as to keep from any problems and to plan out better what needed to be done to keep the town safe. I'm not sure I buy it though, but the whole thing was FUBAR
