Default Mizzou to the Big 10

How do you guys feel about this? I really think it would be great for the amount of money coming into the system... but I think losing the rivalries with kU and Nebraska might suck a little. Beebe needs to get his act together and make it more economically reasonable for Missouri to be in the Big 12.

But it would make your other rival that much more important, and I'm sure you could schedule kansas ooc...... and Nebraska is not a rival to missouri.... maybe a "period" rival, but not a true rivarly even though they do have a bell......

Nebraska and Missouri have been meeting in football since 1900, since the first year of Nebraska football as we know it. How can you not call them a historical rival? While it may not have been competitive... its still a history that is second to very few programs.

Yeah we've played a lot of games, but like you mention it hasn't always been competitive.........

Which to me is one of the Four keys to a rivarly.

1. Competition
2. History
3. Hatred
4. Respect

To me you have to have all four, which is why I consider Oklahoma to be Nebraskas one and only rival....

That makes sense. I think you can have 3/4 of those to be a rival. I think the fact Nebraska has so much history with Missouri automatically makes both sides want to beat each other a little more.

I think over all any school that breaks away from the original Big 6 will be missed.

It's hard to deny the history with Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri dating back to the Missouri Valley days.... But history changes overtime, and a lot of the time that is for the better. In a perfect world, the Big XII would drop Colorado and add Iowa, drop Baylor and add Arkansas and go with a east west design, but I just don't see that ever happening.....

Agreed. And a better profit sharing system.

Meh....... I'm not a big advocate of profit sharing...... it's kinda like socialism....

You should get what you earn, IMO......

I mean there is the rare occurrence when I agree with it, like when Kansas went to the Orange bowl and Missouri was left at home.....

But other than that, I don't like it..

Yeah... I'm actually a fan of conference representation. If we can make every school in the Big 12 a good program, we will have better chances at the National Title in the current BcS system

I don't agree...

I think 4 powerhouse teams is plenty. I mean the big xii has only had two consistant powerhouse teams and then a different team that rises up every year may it be Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Texas Tech, Texas A&M.... It doesn't matter.....

If you win the big xii and you are undefeated you will go to the NCG...... I don't think profit sharing will improve our status.....

All it can do is make it tougher, which is fine, but you have to realize that it will be much harder to put together a string of successful seasons in turn, coaching turnover will be even higher than it allready is...

Personally, I think it would be a good deal for mizzou. More TV exposure is a good thing. It seems like Big 10 games are aired on **** all Saturday long. We would lose the rivalry to KU a little, though like hater said, we could schedule them ooc. But Illinois would replace them, not to mention Iowa as a good rival at least in football.
