I'm indifferent. I expected some turnover after Norm retired. What worries me the most is the recruiting ties in Florida, a place we don't have a lot of presence in. Hopefully, we can hire Aiken or Stoops to take the D over and get it back to kicking ass.

There's rumor that Larry Johnson Sr is being looked at to replace RK and Levar Woods could be taking over the LB's. If that's the case, you can have him.

The more I think about it, the more I'm ok with it. His DLine underperformed much of the time with NFL talent. Also, many of his recruits from FL, which was his territory, aren't with the team anymore.

i think it had a lot to do with your AD telling all assistants they wouldn't be getting a raise

Well, our AD doesn't know what he's doing. Besides, all of our $ is tied up in KF.

Our Dline has has 17 draft picks in the last 10 years and has been solid all around in that same time but has drastically underperformed in comparison to its talent IMO.

I disagree with the "underformance" part. Several other teams were recruiting defensive linemen out of high school who were just as highly touted as the guys Iowa was recruiting.

It isn't about talent anyways..........it's all about development. Just look at Suh. He was an average player at best until Pelini showed up. I'd say Kaczenski had more to do with those kids going from high school talent to NFL talent than what you think.

Those NFL talent kids weren't recruited by Kaz. They were recruited by Aiken who is with the AZ Cardinals. Kaz mostly recruits in FL and the majority of his recruits haven't panned out or are gone.

That's not my point at all.

None of those kids were ready for the NFL coming straight out of high school. Someone had to develop them into the players they became.

For as many as were developed into NFL talent, he lost the same amount. Overall, I hope he works out for you, just not on Black Friday.
