Default can kansas compete

any time in the near future? in a league where you have to have an A1 product at every offensive skill position, i don't see weis getting the recruits...he already has some resources but will the jayhawks ever match the orange bowl year?

they had a lot go their way the Orange Bowl year, that being an incredibly easy schedule and everyone else sucking, plus they lost to Missouri to avoid being exposed in the Big 12 championship game thus they got the Orange Bowl as a reward. The win over Virginia Tech was impressive for them though.

I don't think they will ever have events work that well again.

kind of funny to think they were ranked 1st at one point.

I don't think they'll be really competing anytime soon. Like you said, they were really fortunate for 1 year, and it's not uncommon for VT to lose to someone that they got no business losing to.

yeah probably not, considering that their Peyton Manning, Michael Vick and Tim Tebow all in one QB didn't pan out I guess.

If you cant win at Notre Dame with those resources and talent as well as a modest schedule, you will not win at KU. What good is it having a good qb if your line lets everyone in?

They had some balls bounce the right way, but that was a well coached team. Then like morons they fired the best coach in school history.

Now you see the results. Texas Tech is in the same boat. Tubby is nowhere NEAR the coach Leach was.

Only if we go back to divisions and Kansas can avoid Texas and OU every few years.

Since the BIG TWELVE was formed only two teams have beat OU and Texas in the same year.

A&M has done it twice, 1997, 2010
OSU in 2011

Don't believe he's anywhere in the same stratosphere as other great head coaches in the Big XII. So no, absolutely not.

which it doesn't make sense to me that Mangino still doesn't have a job yet.

he wasn't at a big enough football university to survive a bad firing

This. That fat fucker Weis is going to run the Jayhawks into the ground. Oh wait, they're already there. Well I'd say KU has about as good a chance of breaking .500 in the next decade as Weis has of seeing his dick while taking a whiz.

The only possibility is through the use of smoke and mirrors.

Guys like Weis are the reason I never complain about the Rooney Rule in the NFL.

No matter how bad a coach Weis is, he STILL gets premium paying jobs. That's just a travesty.

Is the guy even playing with his recruits yet? Give him a few years where the players he is recruiting actually play.

if Cincinnati is any indication, they will only get worse

a lot of his success there was with Mark Dantonio's players.
