Hey, that's great.... Now to get the other conferences to sign on & sign up.

"One possibility is the four-team playoff, or the so-called plus-one approach, that would create two national semifinals and a championship game played one week later. The original proposal, made in 2008 by the commissioners of the Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference, was emphatically shot down by the leaders of the Big Ten, Pac-10, Big East, Big 12 and Notre Dame."

This is ideal as of now, but it needs to include conference champions only. They could make the concept simple, win you conference and you become eligible to win the national championship. However, they will probably just take the four highest ranked teams. I think it make the regular season more important and more of a playoff if conference champions were the only teams eligible. If it is a written rule that only conference champions are eligible we are going to allow more teams the opportunity to get into the 4 team playoff.

I completely 100% agree with you...

BUT, college football is tightly wound around the polls, so the BCS top 4 will never be the top 4 conference champs...
