Then they turned around and got beat by Oregon who had to play a team that ended 6-8 overall to win their conference championship. The same Oregon that got beat up by LSU early in the season. Should we even discuss the Big East and the ACC? This season was so bad that everybody knows that the SEC is down from years past and still consider teams like South Carolina, Arkansas and Georgia to be elite even though they know that none of those teams could hang with LSU or Alabama. Face it man, this season was a down season for college football. There were two teams that managed to pull in the best recruits and keep their programs stable enough to compete at a high level without screwing the pooch. They played for the National Championship.

blah blah blah nothing of substance as usual
Bama and LSU were the best of the SEC.....and proved that. They did not prove they were better than every other school in the nation......they proved they could split 2 games against each other.
