So did anybody know this about the SEC?

The SEC is dropping the divisions in basketball so teams like Alabama can play Kentucky or Vandy twice in a season. After last season's controversy, it is about time that they finally do this.

The West has sucked for about 3 years if not more...lol.

The schedule will not change until the 12-13 basketball season.

Slive said yesterday that the SEC tournament will include all teams in the conference no matter what...so 13 team tournament next year, wonder how that is going to work out.

Arkansas fans deserve a good team. Bud Walton Arena is always full, even when the Hogs haven't been that good.

This has been posted since last March. Where have you been under a rock?

Also the schedule is still the EXACT same. The benefit will be in the SEC Tournament where teams will be seeded based on final record not their seeds in each division. Also they are hoping that dropping the division name will make West teams appear more attractive to the NCAA selection committee.

There have been a few SEC West teams screwed out of a bid in recent history:

Mississippi State in 2010

Alabama in 2011

The ACC never adopted divisions in basketball; I still can't quite figure out how they divide it up though.
