You hate to see someone have this happen to them, but I think this was the right decision. This was one of the worst, or constantly confused, Tiger defenses I can remember. I hope he's able to find a new job soon.

Venables spent last weekend in Clemson to interview for the DC position. Word is that he has been offered the job but has not yet accepted. He's currently back home in Oklahoma. It's being reported that Venables has been offered close to $1 million a year by Clemson, he currently makes $500,000 at year at OU.

Dabo still plans on interviewing up to 3 other candidates. Possibilities include Randy Shannon and South Alabama defensive coordinator Bill Clark.

Well, apparently he hasn't been made an official offer. It was reported that Clemson was still waiting for the results of a background check before making the offer official. But The Journal Online cited some unnamed sources who said Venables’ hiring would be formally announced on Friday.
